@HarborTownBrewing I haven’t yet. Thanks for the help! I’m really looking forward to this one. Been a while since the real thing and I may have to do this one next!
@HarborTownBrewing
I am trying to adjust your recipe for my system. What is your efficiency? My IBUs and ABV are way off from yours for a 5 gal batch and I’m not sure why.
Thanks! I just needed some reassurance that I wouldn't end up hating my choice to go 120v. I would love to do 240v but don't have the space to add a breaker and don't want to deal with the added cost right now. I figure I can go that route when i go electric for the other vessels.
Looking at adding a 120V RIMS rocket and Brewcommander to my gas setup. I would like to go 240V bu don’t have label space and don’t plan to stay in this house for more than a few more years. I never go more than 6 gallons for a batch. Eventually I may replace my boil and HLT burners with 240V...
Guys,
I currently have a TopTier system and a direct fire mash tun. I'm looking at adding a RIMS Rocket controlled by a Brewcommander to regulate mash temp. I only do 6gal batches so I am looking at the 120V version. Looking for opinions on going this route. Is it worth the money? My main...
The beer has been kegged for a week and a half and is still carbing. It smells amazing! Very mango like and fruity. The taste is great and it is still really good but I have a few things I want to improve. It is very dry and doesn't have much mouthfeel. I assume it is because i didn't hit my 152...
Thanks beskone! I will try something similar next!
Just transferred to secondary, the beer smells amazing! I ended up doing a 30 minute whirlpool. I will dry hop in a few days.
Thanks guys!
i will plan on doing 3 days of dry hop in secondary. Did you do anything special to your water? I am planning on just using spring water.
Beskone, I am curious to do a Galaxy one at some point. What was your hop schedule?
I was planning to whirlpool at 170 F. This is my first time doing a whirlpool addition. Any pointers?
I may still dry hop. Most of my batches that I have tried have ended up dumped due to grassy flavors from floral or fruity hops. One had 4 oz of hops as dry hop so I was leery of doing that...
I am trying to scale down this recipe:

Here is what I came up with. I am going for a juicy IPA. I opted to leave the dry hops out for now with the whirlpool additions they seemed redundant to me. I am worried about ending up with a grassy...
I am looking at doing a single hop pale ale series to understand hop flavoring. I am looking for any grain bill recommendations that would be clean and not have distracting flavors.
I currently do a Citra pale ale with the following grain bill:
11 lb Pale 2 Row
12.0 oz Caramel 40L
12.0...
I am looking to brew a RyePA with Amarillo hops. I threw this recipe together and wondered what your guys' thoughts were.
