The tank blows with the reg off. Crazy thing is i took the reg apart and all looks good, put it back together and.....nothing.

Lightly used, practically brand new. High pressure reads gas, but low pressure gauge does not move and reg does not release gas. :confused:

I dont have the false bottom in front of me, but it's fitted for the Homedepot round 10gl cooler. There's probably an 1/8" gap between the false bottom and the wall of the cooler. It's made that way so it doesnt scratch up the tun when taking it out for cleaning. And the bit's of grain that do...

I think this method would create the perfect balance between the fruit and beer, but depending on the amount of water you steeped with i would be inclined to add it to the fermenter. Throwing it into the boil will kill off some of the characteristics of the fruit, but you might need to boil off...

I think either style would work but the flavors will be more pronounced in the saison. I imagine in the porter some of the fruit could get lost behind the darker malts but still worth brewing IMO. Let us know how it turns out!
