JB weld should never be used to pot electrical connections. It contains metal and metal conducts electricity. when it got hot enough the epoxy started to break down as an insulator.

In short NO. Each element will pull 13 amps. Most household outlets are 15 amps so two elements will be way more than an outlet can handle. Power strips can only handle 15 amps.
I do lift it out. I have the help of my dad and we lift it out. There is no damn way that I would lift it by my self. Than I chill like all ways with an ic.
Since I don't have a big enough burner for my keggle I improvised some. Using a wood fired 55gal drum I was able to heat 13 gal from sparge to boil in 5 min. I can heat 13 gal from 55 to boil in 25 min.

Check to make sure the posts are on the correct position. The gas in post has notches cut on the wrench corners. The liquid side does not. It sounds like you may have switched the posts around.
That really does look like a firestone post.
One way to tell is if the post has 19/32-18 threads on both posts its cornelius.
If its 9/19-18 on the gas and 5/8-18 on the out its firestone.
The poppet looks like a cornelius.
