    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

I added the citric acid after the boil. It enhances the juiciness of the hops. I used a small amount, 1/4 teaspoon. Some suggest to use up to 3/4 teaspoon.

    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

I brewed my own variation of this yesterday and I'll let you know how it turned out. Here's what I did: brewed with RO water: For my mash water I used 3 grams CaCl2 and 5 grams Gysum (CaSO4) and for batch sparge I used half of those amounts. Grain bill: 10# 2 row, 2# white wheat, 1#...

    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

Anyone have an update on any of their clones you've brewed? Looking to do one this weekend and lots of great ideas here, but learning what's happened with batches so far would be great. John

Looking for Lost Abbey - Judgment Day Clone

Thanks for your reply and I can't wait to make this and I think I will do half in an oak barrel for cuvee de tomme. I'm a little unclear about how long the raisins were in the boil? Recipe says 120 min, but it looked like you later wrote raisins were added with 5 min left in the 120 min boil...

Looking for Lost Abbey - Judgment Day Clone

Any more feedback on the raisin profile of your clone? In this video, they claim that Judgment day has over 180 pounds of raisins for their 30 barrel batch. My memory is a barrel is 31 gallons, so they use 180 pounds of raisins for 930 gallons. Seems 3 pounds should be pretty close for an 11...

    What's wrong with my kegerator??

Thanks for the reply. Each secondary regulator reads zero the whole time. Not sure if each regulator output has a check valve or not. Here's what I have: http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-beer/regulators-pid-8241.html

Looking to trade my Abyss 2012 and LaCumbre Elevated IPA

I have access to quite a few bombers of Abyss 2012 (maybe a bottle or two of 2010 and 2011), plus LaCumbre's Elevated IPA (2011 GABF gold medal winner). Am interested in Bourbon County Stout or other RIS, as well as 3 Floyd's and sours. Let me know what you have to swap.

    What's wrong with my kegerator??

If anyone has some suggestions as to what's going on with my kegerator I would greatly appreciate it. I converted a chest freezer to a 4 tap kegerator about 3 years ago and it has worked flawlessly until a few weeks ago. I purchased a 4 keg secondary regulator panel from micromatic (each has its...

    Used liquor barrels

Thanks a lot. This did the trick. Never thought I'd have such problems with my bung hole! Yes, the smell inside the barrel was amazing. It's gonna be hard to wait to drink this beer!

    Used liquor barrels

Any tips for removing the bung?

    Used liquor barrels

Thanks for the tips. What do you plan to do with your keg for the month in between beers? I've read the sulphur stick method is good as it won't strip the keg of the oak flavor??

    Used liquor barrels

My sorghum whiskey barrel is scheduled to arrive tomorrow and I have 2 separate beers ready to go. The first one is an American Strong Ale and the 2nd is a Russian Imperial Stout. I should be able to put the first beer directly into the barrel, right? I'd rather not have to clean/soak it and...
