I'd check the gravity again. If its stable call it done. I wouldn't worry about hurrying to get it off the hops either. Doesn't sound like there is a lot of gas flow there

Just started using the Blichmann autosparge. Expensive but sure makes it slick. I just crank my pump down to a trickle and the sparge runs about 45-60 minutes for 5 gallons. No need to balance inflow and outflow
There's a leak there somewhere. I'd guess it's the lid seal but the CO2 is getting out somewhere. I've had the same issue with my Blichmann conical without ill effect on the beer. Still, much more satisfying to see the bubbles!

I decided to try an extract kit again for fun and picked up Midwest's Bigfoot's Barleywine kit. It specifies a secondary fermentation with a champaign yeast pitch. I haven't done a secondary in years but wonder about the advisability with the second yeast addition. Will western civilization...

Just taking it out of the case broke the top and cut my finger. Fortunately I always keep a spare. This time i'm spending the big bucks ($83) and buying a polycarbonate replacement. If it lasts 3 years I'll be on pace to break even (and save some blood!)
Yeah - I even like the high, upright ride. You see everything around you so well. It's smooth and powerful. I'm a bit height challenged (5'7) so it can be a wrestling match on the ground. Once we're running though it's heaven

I use the dry hopper from stainless brewing. I find that dry hopping is pretty forgiving as far as aging. I usually let the hops sit in there for 1-2 weeks but I've left them longer without any bad effects. I use a little hook to pull out the hopper from the keg when I figure it's done...
