Weird house / real estate listings.

Not questioning your friend at all, but in the early 00's after the stock market basically crashed, our mortgage broker took her remaining stocks, sold them, bought a bunch of real-estate that tanked in the mid-late 00s. She also tried to tell me that a deal that was worse on paper was...

    How did you find us?

I counted 5, but I've had a couple... That is seriously depressing. I started home-brewing in '91, but got out of it for multiple years. Kids these days...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

At some point I'll need a replacement daily driver. We started looking at used EVs about 2 years ago, but the market was trash. We looked at a Bolt, but there was something wrong with it. With my commute, I need a 50 mile range. it was at about 90% capacity, but something like 30 miles left...

New grill to augment others---gasser or Blackstone griddle?

I got a 4 burner Blackstone prior to COVID. It's great for some meats, and lots of veggies. It also means we keep the heat out of the house during the summer. I have it at the back of my yard, so there's much more walking, and I can't both prep and cook at the same time. I have a gas grill...

    SweetTarts?

I've tried a bunch of different candies. I have not found a single one I liked post fermentation.

    New chiller methodology

That's the opposite of what I did. The chiller went into the wort, the pool water was pumped through it. The dumping is correct, although I have several auto-siphons. Just too lazy to bother with a 5 gallon batch. Over that, auto-siphon.

    New chiller methodology

When I had an above-ground pool, I pumped the pool water in through my immersion cooler to conserve water and heat the pool. We got rid of it, so I switched to just putting a lid on my pot to let it cool off overnight, then transfer and pitch yeast in the morning.

    Tater Tots v Onion Rings

I don't think this is a "vs" thing at all, but rather a "yes, please" sort of thing.

    Spring 2024 Corny Keg Giveaway

My last brew was a Ginger Apple cider, but I'm patiently crossing my fingers.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Kegged 5 gallons ginger cider, 4 gallons Gran-apple cider, 2 gallons pomegranate cider. Started 5 gallons of Ginger Cider.

Do you consider electric/automated brewing equipment to be cheating?

I think "cheating" is going to the local pub and spending $15 on a pint or two. I also do "no chill" once I didn't have a pool to push heat into anymore, but still use my 15 gallon stockpot on a propane burner because there's only the cost of propane, no new equipment. The point is to make...
