CARLSBAD, SAN DIEGO AREA PICK UP - free, must take all 4
I have 4 plastic carboys (PET 6 gallon) with bungs and air locks to give away. Must take all and pick up. In the Carlsbad, CA area. Private message me if interested.
100% oxidation management. Flush everything with CO2 especially when dry hopping and kegging.
I never secondary and have had great results (award winning.)
Assuming a 5 gallon batch, there are 40 pints in there. So now each pint of beer will have less than 0.4 ounce of star san. I'm guessing that is below the threshold of altering the taste significantly.
Thanks! Reminds me of the "Puttin on the Spritz" clone but a lower OG for a more session IPA.
These recipes really lend themselves to split brew days. You can knock out 45 min of the boil the day before since no hops are added until the last 15 min. Just bring wort to a boil again right...
Jon, what style of beer did you go with? Care to post the recipe?
I’ve been looking at using techniques used in Brut IPAs for other styles. You’re pretty much guaranteed to get FG < 1.000 with amylase in the mash and Ultra Ferm in the fermenter IMO.
Vinotemp 180-ish bottle capacity, about 7 years old. I'm sure the model is discontinued but similar to this:

Cut 1" and glued. Nailed too.
Wood conditioner, natural stain and 3 coats of polyurethane
Painting. Definitely the hardest part of this project. 4 light coats of glossy white spray paint, 2 light coats of glossy clear.
Counter top was so light I could use some simple hinges.
Okay I got it. I assumed coffin implied not putting the taps in the collar. Anyhow, I was planning on making a coffin tap box on top but decided with my woodworking skills it would look out of place with the design. So this was a coffin build until the last bit when I caved and bought a tower o_O
THE BUILD continued...
The 2x4 frame with a think cheap panel. Wood type and quality doesn't matter so much since I'll be painting it white. Was able to save a lot of money here. 8' x 4' panel was $15.
Cut out a hole for airflow. Might cover it with a nice grill but won't be able to see...
THE BUILD
Collar and rolling base with casters. I put the casters on the bottom of the UPPER cross beams to try to keep the height down (final height of counter top is 43" !) Make sure to also place the caster as far inside on the 2x4 as possible so the caster doesn't swing out and hit the...
SWMBO agreed to let me build a keezer for the kitchen on the condition that it didn't look like it belonged in the garage. So the goal was to create a keezer that looked like it was part of the kitchen design from the beginning so I went with white cabinets and a butcher block counter top.
I...
I'm just finishing up my first Keezer build (will post pics soon!) I've secured the drip tray on the counter top (with 3M velcro picture hanging command strips.) However when I flip up the coffin lid the drip tray grill insert falls out.
Anybody have a good solution to keep the drip tray...
