Did Northern Brewer Purchase Austin Homebrew AND/OR Adventures in Brewing?

Got no real dog in this fight but was having trouble getting NBs website to load. I figured I’d try another company for a change and placed an order thru Austin HB. I placed the order April 27 and it arrived today, it took forever. The box has all Northern Brewer hops in it, and all the labels...

    Removing Chlorine

Thanks man. Funny you should mention it but I've been fighting some nasty off flavors lately and ended up buying a reverse osmosis system last week. I just installed it and now I'm going down the rabbit hole of brewing salts and stuff to build my water. I've never messed with any sort of...

    Dry Hopping in Fermentor?

I would say most people dry hop in the fermenter. If you bottle where else would you do it?

    Keggle Question DMS

My keggle has the same lip and I don't have DMS issues.

    Fermentation chamber

Mine is basically a big dorm fridge that used to be a kegerator. It still has the taps and lines on it in case I want to serve from it one day, but it has a Johnson Controls temp controller and that's it. Simple and since it was designed to keep a 15 gallon keg cold it is more than capable of...

    coffee beers

Do any of you guys have one of those cylindrical stainless steel strainer type things that you'd use to dry hop in a keg? I wonder if you could coarse crush some beans and add it to that and throw it in the keg. Would you get off flavors after a while from the beans?

    Ink bird controlling HLT element

The plug and cord it comes with isn't safe to use with that much wattage/amperage.

    Kegging day

If you want to "rush" a beer here's what I do. Drain your carboy into the keg and seal it up. Set regulator to 40 PSI and let keg fill with gas completely. Set a time for about 1 minute and 30 seconds. Begin shaking or rocking the keg back and forth for a minute and a half. Then lower your...

    Not enough water. D'oh!

Don't do that. Just let it ride man. It will still taste great, it will just be a little stronger than usual. It isn't worth risking the oxidation. It's too late to top it up.

Quick ferment on Kolsch. too high original gravity?

A fast ferment is a good thing and means you pitched plenty of healthy yeast! You can rest assured pro brewers don't wait 3 weeks for fermentation to complete!

How Are You Attaching Your Temperature Monitor/Regulator In Your Keezer?

Be careful that your probe is rated to be submerged, some aren't.

    Hurricane Irma

The forecast has deteriorated for me. Initially when it was to pass on the east coast we only expected 45mph winds and now we're expecting 70-90. This will be devastating for this area if we get winds that strong.

    Hurricane Irma

I'm a little northwest of you, hoping for the best. Also hoping this IPA finishes fermenting and clears up so I can keg it before the storm!

Camden Tablet Neglect - Did I Just Botch my Brew?

I did this recently. Also, like a gallon of rain water fell into my brew pot and screwed up my gravity. It still made a pretty solid beer.

Does Warrior suck as a dry hop?

I'm going to dry hop the heck outta it then. Thanks fellas.
