    Infected?

If you used irish moss during the boil, it could be clumped proteins/trub. I've seen it before.

Wyeast 3763 Roeselare showed up at my door frozen :(

Nice. Looks like freezing doesn't affect the viability too too much.

Yes. They said do a starter if it is the only yeast you are pitching. If you are pitching another yeast for primary fermentation, they said don't do a starter.

I tweeted wyeast and they told me to do a starter if I wasn't fermenting with another sacc strain first. Also mine showed up frozen so I wanted to make sure the yeast was healthy before pitching.

Wyeast 3763 Roeselare showed up at my door frozen :(

Just an update, I smacked the pack and let it sit overnight. By morning, it had swelled up so I pitched it into a starter. Pitched the starter into my wort and it's happily fermenting away now.

Thanks Calder. So the freezing will only affect the yeast culture and not the bugs?

Wyeast 3763 Roeselare showed up at my door frozen :(

I ordered this yeast online, and it showed up at my door today frozen solid. Now I know yeast are single-celled organisms and can be damaged by being frozen, but what about all of the bacterial cultures in this yeast blend? (Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus and Pediococcus). I'm planning on...

    forgot to recirculate

Worst case, you'll have extracted some tannins from the grain which could lead to a bit of astringency in the beer.

What size kettle to get for 10g batches

Bear in mind that for BIAB, you're putting your entire grain bill and entire boil volume of water in the same kettle. With a 20 gal kettle, you might be pushing the limits. I'd go 25 to be safe.

    Hydrometer reading vs Refractometer reading

Your readings could also be lower if there is any sort of water or sanitizer in your pipette when drawing a sample. This would cause the sample to be diluted and read lower than it should be.

    Advice please on APA recipe

I'm trying to create a pale ale that's not too bitter, still has a nice aroma and flavour from the hops, and also has a nice amount of malty body to it. I'd appreciate any advice! Also, I've never used this hop combination before, but I imagine they'd work well together. Style: American...

    dexter finale?

That entire last season was a write-off imo. Bad writing, bad story lines, just bad overall. Should've ended it last season.
