I am trying to build my own stir plate. I am using a 12 volt led computer fan connected to a 9 volt still charger. It spins for about 2 seconds and then craps out but the light stays on. Do I need a 12 volt power supply?

As long as primary fermentation is completed you should be ok. A lot of people don't even use a secondary but I always have with no negative effects.

I've ways had great success with Midwest. I plan my brew days long ahead of time because it takes about a week for items to get to me in New Jersey. Ordering in bulk helps and this time waiting is offset by their great customer service.

I always soak in oxyclean free or pbw then rinse and hit them with a jet bottle washer before sanitizing

Well just got the email saying it shipped and will receive it on Wednesday. Considering tomorrow is Sunday and I live in New Jersey that's not a bad time frame at all.

I have always used Midwest with great service and shipping times. This is the only real problem that I have had with them.
