Just brewed this beer last night. First full boil BIAB i have done and there where a few hitches but all in all I think it went well.
Hitch #1 pre boild volume not right ended up with 4.25 gal.
Hitch #2 forgot to add corn sugar until flame out.
OG 1.066
I will re post when i taste...
Batch size no more than 10 gal (12.5) pre boil. When I chose 2 elements I was thinking quicker mash and boil times but I am not married to this idea. When you say fuzzy I suppose you mean variance or swing in temp readings or do you mean the display will be fuzzy?
Thanks for the reply Jeff and P-J. I have other questions but they are not directly related to this thread so I have started on of my own. I think I am going to go with the pid anyhow.
This is the begining of my eBIAB build and I wanted to know if anyone is doing a single vessel system with two 4500w elements. What may or may not be the advantages? Also plan to get this PID http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1KT0JM1346 .
I looked through the list of P-J's...
maybe i dont understand but does this realy save that much money? I only ask because I am planning my own eBIAB. The "dimmer" control is a little less expensive but you still need the GFCI and all the other parts required to make a safe kettle correct?
I am also curious about your opinions on using another 5gal bucket for a seconday vs a carboy. I think this would obviously save me some money so I could decide if I want to continue brewing and invest in a carboy.
Hello all,
Just started my first batch of beer horay! When I put the wort into the fermentaion bucket I misread the directions and also disolved the priming sugar in boiling water and added it to the wort just before the yeast. I dont think it will ruin the beer but I do wonder how this...
