Turns out that my problem was ****ty hops!
Yup, got some batches from the same supplyer which must not have been stored properly. I've changed suppliyer and my problem went away!

I've got a couple of things comming to my mind reading all of the above.
1st - Your kegging system is most likely fine. Even if a part was super nasty, it'd take more than 3 days before you could taste any infection. You could drop a whole pack of Reoselare in a 5 gal of fermented...

I gest consistent 76-77 efficiency by doing a 10min mashout @ 167 degress for 10 minutes.

It is slightly less fermentable thought so you might want to up the qty a little bit.
My 2c; it won't have any impact on flavour and simple sugar (dextose etc etc) will be easier for the tired yeast cells to convert.

If she feels that way after 10 yrs together, you're probably past the "sit down and talk together".
