Draft Beer Porn in a Canoe

So we were chatting about a decent low tech way of keeping the lines cold and I think we are just going to add another 6' or so to the lines and coil them in the bottom of the canoe and cover with ice. As far as emptying the weight at the end of the day we could either cut holes in the bottom...

Draft Beer Porn in a Canoe

It was epic. We had 32 taps and served 200 gallons to very happy festival goers in 3 hours.

    Slanting yeast

Looks like you have it Brewski. You might want to grab a 2L flask for stepping up starters.....1L isn't going to cut it for most gravities. Jason

    Multi-brew advice

Someone else kind of mentioned this. Don't start drinkin' till you get the second beer on the boil :)

I Searched White Stuff In Carboy

Just break material/trub. It will settle out and make a tight cake on the bottom.....probably 1/4 to 1/2 gallon worth. When fermentation wraps up you will see the yeast layer on top of it. RDWHAHB Jason Edit: Get that carboy off the carpet or you may get your a$$ handed to ya. Throw a...

    Slanting yeast

Below is the spreadsheet I use to track yeast slants and hop inventory. I also put labels on each slant. One on top of the lid with the strain number and one on the side with the inoculation date and generation number. http://db.tt/ESAq5CY Jason

To prevent hotspots and get an accurate temp reading. Jason

    Evaporation rate

Same thing here. 2.25G per hour in my 10G pot. Don't really think it is a problem.....at least you know your boil-off rate. Jason

Should I rack beer a third time to remove sediment?

After six months it should clear just fine. Pretty impressive that you're letting your very first beer sit for that long.....mad patience. Jason

    Hydrometer

Going to be tough to get a good reading if there is that much sediment as the viscosity will cause the hydrometer to stick. Can you get a clear, sediment free sample after it settles out a bit?
