    Sour Experience at Flying Dog in Maryland

    I don't think that is MD law. I go to the Union Brewery in Baltimore a lot and never had to do the tour to taste or buy a beer.

    Spent Grains

    I only do 1 gallon batches so it is easier for me to dry them out in the oven. I don't do it for every batch ass some go in the garden to compost and some in the trash. Yesterday I made some falafel with some spent grains. I am sure this site has been posted on the board before...

    Pretty Things are good beers. http://prettybeer.com/wp/ Sunset has lots of beer but service really sucks. Go across the street to the common ground. Smaller selection of beer but much better everything else.

    I keep my fermenting jugs in an old beer case box and right now I have an IPA and a thanksgiving ale. My girlfriend is one of those people that can't leave anything in the same place and move my box. Now am not sure which one is which. They are about the same color. I need to dry hop the IPA...

    They weren't very helpful in store when I shopped there before I moved to Baltimore. Glad Baltimore has their own store now (Nepenthe Homebrew).

    Homebrewing cost effectiveness

    I think the whole not cost effective part is always doing upgrades. I do 1 gallon brews and my cost is average $6-7 for 10 beers. Considering a 6 pack of quality beer these days is $10 I am saving a little money unless you count my time which I am usually watching sports and drinking beer. So...
