    tea?

I think brewing, like baking (which I am WAY better at) is part chemistry, part magic, and part sacrificing to the right deity! Goddess knows why overboiled bad tea came out tasting good as a beer! I do like the idea of adding some good stuff right at the end for aroma though. I'm thinking, that...

    tea?

So- as himself was curled up with the cat and a pint of beer (which has an increasingly stable head! Woo hoo!) I got a description- he says this batch tastes like what Lagunitas Maximus would be if it were a nut brown ale. We dumped the tea in and boiled it for the whole 1.5 hours. Really, we...

lcasanova, your double IPA is next!

I posted a pic of my latest tea based GF, so you can take a look at the color if you want to. That batch was 40 cheepo tea bags in 5 gallons. (I'm planning on getting good tea for this project for the next try, but for now I'm brike and using up stuff left over from various parties!)
  7. Visible Ninja pre bottle

Right out of the carboy, on it's way to bottles. This is the 3rd try on the GF IPA/ESB like object. Himself sipped this and got excited!

  8. opportunistic barbie booze.
Well, you see, the grapes were free. The kind with sole leather skins and buckshot seeds. Good flavor, but really, juice is about that is reasonable. Thought to myself- not that many, not worth separating colors, it will just

    tea?

I posted some pictures of mark three in the tea/ipa trials. Well, mark two of that, but our third try overall. And yeah- green tea! One of those summer Pilsners.. hmm!!
  10. Visible Ninja fast pour, post bottle

Riiight- so, not a real stable head, but for GF, not bad! Not bad at all!

  11. Visible Ninja slow pour

And we seem to have achieved a HIGHLY hopped mid body ale. Humanoid beer stand is the reason we are learning the whole GF beer thing.

    tea?

Thanks! Good tip! Doubt he'll ever ask me to brew anything with no hop flavour, but I might for myself!

    tea?

I too would be curious about the matching of tea to hops flavoring. We just bottled the latest- used the proportions from the GF IPA but kept with the tea, rice syrup, and Willammette hops. As our experience grows I'm sure we'll get pickier about hop varieties, but so far we're pretty happy with...
