did you mash in your dark grains with the 2 row/crystal malts? I've read somewhere to do a cold infusion overnight to minimize bitterness while extracting out dark grains. thanks and looks so yummy! planning to have for my son's graduation in a couple months, a warm May evening.
after brewing two Choco Milk Stouts, got a request from the wife to do a nice Porter. This looks like a good recipe to make my first one. Thinking of adding 4-8oz of roasted pecans to the boil to give it a Chocolate Pecan pie kinda taste. Will be brewing soon!

I've made this recipe 2 or 3 times and I get the malt but it's a tad drier feel. Having visited Germany a few times and having the style often, this recipe is pretty darn close. I make a batch for own Oktoberfest party every year! cheers!
