the beer turned the corner. I am only getting a little sulfur now. At one point when degassing it smelt like straight rotten eggs. I just kegged too soon. Been degassing it from the keg periodically every day. I think a another day or two it should be Gone. Having some friends over today and...
I repitched WLP830 German lager yeast. The slurry was pretty old, 2 months. I thought I pitched enough yeast, 2 mason jars. I rushed the fermentation and when I was kegging the beer I got a lot of sulfur.
My question is will the sulfur blow off if it’s in the keg? I didn’t really notice it in...
I’ve been reusing the same original WLP001 for like 7 maybe 8 times. The results have been phenomenal. Fast start, clean beers, good attenuation etc. I am doing my last repitch with it and plan on doing a Pliny Clone. A group of my friends it’s their favorite beer and no matter how much they...
I live in Southern California and 77 degrees was was reading on the digital thermometer I taped and insulated on the pail. It wasn't going to be a hot day so I thought it would be ok. I did the same sanitation procedures I do with all my beers which is clean with oxy clean and then sanitize with...
Letting it ride is probably the thing to do. I could use the space but it's not needed. I'll should probably give at least 5 - 6 days. I'm just so frustrated I want to forget about it.
Thanks for the reply.
Due to some miss calculations and timing on my part I ended up with wort that sat @2 days before pitching yeast. I have pitched my yeast the following day before but with my standard speidel fermenter with no issues. This time the wort sat in an ale pail . The Bucket sat in my fridge with a heat...
brewed a "New England" IPA and it's on day 12 in the fermenter. The target FG is 1.015. Below is a rough estimate of the recipe:
20% wheat malt
10% flaked oats
70% 2 row
The OG was 1.066 and I pitched a yeast slurry from my previous IPA using London 3. I pitched 100ml of slurry with a...
I did a second dry hop in my IPA of 2ozs. I used pellets hops and put them in without a bag. I am racking to my keg after two days. I didn't think this one though and now I am thinking the hops won't drop to the bottom before I rack to the keg. I rack with a speidel fermenter via the spigot on...
i don't have a recipe but try something like this out. What I do know is the malt is marris otter and the hops are mosaic and calypso. You could move the hops around to your preference. Maybe add more add whirlpool for more aromatics.
