    If I recall correctly, the only thing that changed, at least on the web site, was the hops. But I'm no expert. I'm sure candi sugar would work well also. I used molasses instead of dark brown sugar.

    I thought it turned out pretty well. However, I think I used too much priming sugar as my bottles were over-carbonated. Good flavor though. If you try this out, let me know what you think. Cheers!

    Rubber band aroma

    By chance did you use a fermenthaus rubber bung? I've found they can impart a pretty strong rubber flavor/aroma to beer.

    Anyone Use a cooler like this for a tun?

    I built my mash tun out of an igloo cooler using these instructions: http://sweetwort.blogspot.com/2010/08/60-quart-ice-cube-igloo-mash-tun.html. It works very well. The siphon basically vacuums out the wort, so you don't have to worry about the raised valve and as a result you're not leaving...

    Can I Cut My Conditioning Time Then?

    I keep my house between 61-65. I've been putting my beers in front of the vents. They're carbonated within about 7 days. Your mileage may vary, I guess.
