I do realize LODO is a thing. Personally the effort to achieve a real LODO process thrashes the fun out of being for me. I got nothing against it and I'm sure amazing beers really from the process. I'm just not interested in the journey down that rabbit hole.
I'll be doing a 5 gallon batch.
If you watch the first look video it shows all the dimensions.
Yes there is a lip you can see it in the video.
Yes it is the same camera I use for live streams.
The GFCI video has alternate links in the description. The vendor has more on order.
👍🍻
So far I've been happy with mine. The lid seal was problematic. (Over 10 psi) But they have redesigned it and are sending out updated seals for early models. I was able to ferment, carbonate, and can some beer right from the fermenter.
I've done a video on BrunDog's design. I did adapt it to all in one systems but the principals are all the same. Thanks to @BrunDog for the awesome idea on this!
I have been wanting to try this for quite a while now. I've read recommendations on brewbag with the boilcoil and everyone says to turn off the element and let the bag rest for the duration of the mash. I decided to not listen to that advice and do a full volume recirculation BIAB with the brew...
Yep your point is valid. The only downside to using a corny is you can't really dump any trub or harvest the yeast while the beer is still in the keg. Of course if that doesn't matter then who cares. Use your corny and brew on!!
How much yield are you getting?
While I have not used it yet, I don't think it will be difficult at all. Not any more of a pain than having a butterfly valve on a racking arm for the sample. Blichmann makes a MFL quick connect that will screw right on.
