Cheap Sanke Keg fermenter Conversion kit (Completed!)

So today I managed to get my hands on a spare Sanke Keg and would really like to put this fermenter together. I love the whole concept and idea, thanks for sharing. With that said, can you update with everything actually attached? I'm trying to bend my head around how you seal off the...

    Weldless brew stand.

Reaver, thanks for the response. I've been looking at the UniStrut ones for a while as well and thanks for the link to that thread, been reading through it to see what I can learn from it as well. Just the design of Channel Strut appeals to me in that it just looks stronger. Having said...

    Weldless brew stand.

I'm looking at building this, mainly because (1) I need a brew stand, and (2) I'm not authorized by my significant other to spend too much on my hobby (she still views homebrew through the distorted lense of college kids half-hearted attempts at stale kit brewing 10 years ago). I've gone...

Danby 4.4 cu.ft Fridge Collar Help

Hi, I have an old Danby 4.4cu.ft "All Fridge" that I was going to convert to a "good enough for now" 2 Keg kegerator. The reasons are that I've sold my house and need something to house my kegs until I get around to building a bar in the new place. This fridge was either going to be...

    RIMS for Dummies

Running the sparge water through the RIMS is genius, thanks for the idea!

How to add permanent volume markings to a kettle (illustrated)

After I was finished with the tick marks, it was time to try a logo. I picked up some sticker paper from Staples and used it to print out and cut out a quick text logo to try. I cut it out with a utility knife. It took a fair amount of time and isn't something I would want to do often...

How to add permanent volume markings to a kettle (illustrated)

Great thread and thanks to the OP. I did a "test run" on a small, 4 gallon Walmart pot that I had. I figured it was best to try it out on it first before trying on a bigger kettle. Like others here, I used a wall wart instead of a 9 volt which worked well. Originally I used a 6v charger...

    RIMS for Dummies

I've been reading the 131 pages of this thread over the last 6 months on and off with great enthusiasm. Having said that, its quite possible my questions have been answered already and I just missed the posts. I'm starting to build my RIMS system now, just in the process of converting a keg to...

Raspberry addition and resulting increase in Alcohol

Thanks, that's kind of the answer I expected. While I COULD do the math, for my purposes, it's probably just as good to call it +6%.

Raspberry addition and resulting increase in Alcohol

I brewed up a lighter, slightly sweeter beer with a balanced hop profile that had an OG of 1.05 and finished at 1.004 (6% ABV). By itself it was actually really tasty, but today I added 1kg (2.2 lbs) of frozen raspberries. Assuming this re-starts fermentation, how do I calculate the final ABV...

    HERMS Resources

I've been all-grain brewing for a year now and doing pretty well with it, turning out some decent brews that have been happily drank by family and friends (except my father-in-law, he's a Coor's Light man). So far, I've used an aluminium turkey fryer and a cooler as a mash tun. It's worked...

    Keg Storage

Now that, well, that's genius! Ordering a set of parts momentarily. Thanks.

    Keg Storage

Further follow on question, with Sanke keg couplers, is there any way to easily block out the beer outflow so the CO2 can force carb the keg without pushing beer out and up a line that then needs cleaning? I'm guessing it would take a specialized coupler that's not readily available.

    Keg Storage

Excellent, that's pretty much what I was looking to do but wasn't sure it would work that well. Do you leave the kegs on the line in the 'charging station' until use, or just carb and disconnect? My basement is typically around 68F, not sure if that's too warm but it's far from hot.

    Keg Storage

I've been homebrewing for a while and have been kegging in Sanke kegs since the beginning. The one issue I have though is developing a pipeline. Usually, I just try and time my fermenting to match when my kegs on tap will blow, but even if I do this right, there's maybe 3 days or so where my...
