I'm tinkering with Brewfather to see if it is something I want to keep using for managing things. I'm using a PicoBrew Z for brewing. I'm having a hard time setting up the equipment profile so that the volumes of water and other calculations come out properly.
Is there any kind soul here who...
Sure. Several cycles a day (or maybe even a couple an hour) seem reasonable to me. On and off many times an hour is likely a problem...need to either adjust your limits, your PID loop inputs, thermal mass, or improve insulation.
However...maybe it's normal for a fridge to cycle that often...
One question is "what is the normal compressor duty cycle like for a freezer"? Yes, cycling too often won't be good for it, but we don't really know what "too often" is unless we have a baseline to compare it with. Anyone have data?
For sure. It'd be a serious project. Probably not worth doing unless you had enough demand to do an actual production run including mounting the components.
Hello, all. I just managed to get my hands on a Z (yay!) which is complete, EXCEPT that it doesn't have the step filter lid or the drain tube + grommet. Hoping someone out there will have an extra.
I was thinking about a completely new board which integrates all of the stuff directly, rather than soldering modules onto a carrier board. Alternately, finding narrower modules to solder to a narrower carrier.
The only supplier of those XL preform bottles I found on eBay indicates 2-4 weeks from Estonia to US. If one were able to make a board (and components) fit in a slightly narrower (~25mm) tube, then it looks like there are a lot more choices.
I just don't have time, but somebody could whip up a...
Not sure, looking at this thing, if there are outside vs inside channels. I would guess alternating layers? Don't really know how this thing is put together internally.
I have a number of these Weyee plate chillers (from PicoBrew), which I intend to use for (duh) wort chilling with my newly functional Zymatic. Any idea if it matters which pair of ports I run the water through and which I run the wort through?
