I have 2 batches just begging to be kegged. This will be on tap for my St. Pats day celebration.

No happy yeast - cause for concern?

I have been brewing about 2 years, though I do it fairly irregularly (once a month, sometimes twice). I, evidently oddly, have never had a batch take more than 24 hours to begin visible signs of fermentation. I don't have others around me brewing so I typically turn to the interwebs, with a rare...

No happy yeast - cause for concern?

I have just never not seen anything for more than 24 hours. I definitely should have done more internet reading before asking for help, but here we are. *brave lady

    Man cave E-brewery

I don't really have much along the line of suggestions, but the room looks great. Is the room temperature regulated? Do you have a place in the room where you are storing during fermentation? I am always curious to see where people are storing their goods.

No happy yeast - cause for concern?

Freak out aborted. Looks as though things are beginning to pick up. At least I will know to expect the same from the batch next to it that I brewed this morning.

No happy yeast - cause for concern?

I don't have a ph meter and just broke my hydrometer. It looks like it it starting to become a little active now. I brewed a second batch of the same today. I am going to give it another 8 hours or so before I panic. I have never had yeast take this long, but I am also using something new.

No happy yeast - cause for concern?

I brewed this nut brown yesterday and I do not see any happy yeast action. I have been brewing for a couple years and have never had this happen. What could have gone wrong?

    Why brew to "style"?

I have only been brewing on my own for about two years and so I find a lot of value in understanding how to brew to style, but I have come up with some pretty wonderful things on my own too. I think it is great to experiment but quality shouldn't be lost to a desire to do something outside of...

Hopps and trub on the compost pile?

I have no experience in composting, but plan to start in the spring. I think the main thing I need to understand is at what point you stop adding material so that you can pull out the fertilizer?

    Take good notes!

I use the brewing assistant app for recipes and when i brew & keep docs in the quick office app that came in my phone. Thumb typing isn't the most efficient way to track but it does keep everything handy.

British Brown Ale Nut Brown AG

I try to come up with my own recipes for the most part, but I think this is going to be what I brew Sunday afternoon. Thanks!

    short fermentation

I brewed it last night and took the majority of the advice given. Hoping to end with a nice IPA. I have a kegging system but this beer is needed in addition to what I will have on tap. Thanks for the follow up. I'll let you know how things turn out after the 27th.
