    Flat beer following bottling.

Crap. I should have read the instructions :( Is it worth popping the caps and adding more? The beer does taste pretty sweet...

    Flat beer following bottling.

I brewed my first all grain batch around a month ago, after previously brewing quite a few successful extract beers. This was the beer I brewed: https://www.brewuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=130597&sid=4edfb5c51ffc05c7dbd3d55660e37b76#p130597 The brew day itself went OK. I accidentally...

    Dry hopping

Hi all, I've done a few brews now - 2 kits and 1 extract. The kits came out great. The extract not so. I think the problem might be down to not letting it age long enough, as it was just a bit tasteless. I ferment in a temperature controlled fridge, using a thermowell to get the beer temp, and...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Its missing all the textures and icons off the buttons. The graph itself is fine. Must be something weird with my setup.. I will investigate further.

So my brewpi installation doesn't render the webpage properly anymore (http://adsl.geordish.org) presumably because there is too much data. Is there any way to fix this, other than deleting historic data?

Is the fridge running all the time? It seems the temperature plummets when the heater turns off.

Yes, the 5V needs connecting to the data line via a resistor for parasitic mode to work.

That is really odd. I've tried a few different wiring combinations to see if I can come up with one that gives your results, but I can't find one. Maybe try one sensor at a time? If one is operating in parasitic mode, it will affect all of them.

When the +5 is disconnected only from the probe side you don't get any device readings at all?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Excuse the poor diagram! The +5V from the arduino needs to be connected, but the +5V from the probe is disconnected for parasite power. Hopefully the rubbish diagram explains it a little better? Perhaps its a faulty cable on the probe? If you are willing to, maybe take one apart and try wiring...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

The temperature probes have 3 wires. +5v, GND and Data. If they are wired up as in the diagram, but with the +5v disconnected it will still work in 'parasite' mode, but due to it not being very reliable, brewpi won't detect them. If my sketch is saying you are in parasite mode, then you must...

    You have a wiring issue.

What does it say about parasitic power, and what model numbers does it reply with?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I've created a quick Arduino sketch to tell you what onewire devices you have connected, and if they are operating in parasitic power or not. To use it, wire up the Ardunio with the onewire on pin Analog 4. Include some extra libraries: Sketch -> Include Library -> Manage Libraries Install...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

So I had a play around with putting in 5 gallons of water to see if the increased thermal mass would make a difference, and adding a fan, but I could not maintain 22degrees C at night. Looking at your graphs, your ambient temp isn't going quite as low as mine (8 vs around 2 for me) I ended...
