I keep hearing that soda is much higher carbonation than beer...if it is, I can't tell the difference when I drink either one as far as carbonation goes. And if there is such a difference like 12psi vs 30psi, why not carb the soda at 12psi...the same as beer? I like the carbonation of beer...
I am interested in this also, but I hear a small amount of alcohol from the yeast though and I have kids. I really really want to bottle into glass from a keg...what kinda keg do you have? Does your soda get its carbonation from sitting in the keg with yeast or do you put sugar in your bottles...
So, I am wanting to make my own soda for our home and also to eventually put in some glass bottles and give as gifts. I have been doing quite a bit of reading and am sort of confused as to the many different ways to carb. I think I will mostly purchase extracts and/or flavoring and make drinks...

I read a little about carbonating by just pouring extract into seltzer water...was thinking of trying that and see how that goes.
I'm gonna experiment with different extracts. I would really like to get a mint julep soda going because I am a mint fan. Any pointers on a website to buy good quality extracts?
