First off, sorry if this question has been posted before. I'm on mobile and I can't for the life of me find a search function.
I brewed 5 gal of Saison, OG 1.044. Pitched WLP 565 (no starter) at 78 degrees and the beer has been cooling off with ambient room temperature to about 73 degrees...
What I've done for squeezing hop or grain bags is sanitize two sets of tongs, one to hold the bag, the other the squeeze. It helps to have two people, but with hops should easily be doable with one. Starting from the top of the bag and squeeze your way down.
And enjoy your first homebrew!
Well I took a gravity ready when I transferred it to secondary, was down to 1.022. However, during cleaning, I broke my hydrometer. No LHBS, if I ordered one online it might get here in time. If a gravity reading is key I can order one and cross my fingers.
I am going out of town for 10 days starting March 20th. After 7 days of primary fermentation, I moved a coconut brown ale to my secondary fermenter on March 8th. I added unsweetened coconut flakes at this time.
I've thought of 2 options for the brown ale, but if you've got a different idea...
Recently found HBT, so i'll add my 2014 totals to the count.
