Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Great - let's hope he responds. Agree he's usually pretty open. Oldsock had something on his blog a while back saying trillium was on their third yeast strain. Wonder if this is round 4 or dialing in the temps on the existing strain ...

Isolated Yeast (Tree House): How to Identify and Characterize?

Just spitballing here , trying to think of what they could be doing differently process wise. What does the group think about them NOT oxygenating the wort and over pitching the dry yeast?

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Add me to this camp. I have tried the fully closed transfers many a time and just end up clogging the poppets (even stainless steel poppets I thought looked a little bigger). How the hell do people avoid this? I hate going through the trouble of Star san water purging a keg just to have to...

New England IPA Julius clone (BYO magazine)

Source? Nate has said on twitter that flaked oats are not common but they do use them.... Hell, Curiousity One on their website clearly states flaked oats. http://treehousebrew.com/archive/ So... do tell.

    Treehouse Brewing Julius Clone

pretty sure dave green, when developing the BYO clone for fort point, had 1318 in there originally and JC steered him toward 007. Doesn't mean thats the one, but that was the beginning of the hunch. Its somewhere in a BA homebrewing thread.

Funny to hear about your friend. I tend to be the opposite (even frequently annoying myself), I nitpick the **** out of my own beer. I accept commercial beer for what it is.

I am big on DH'ing in the key as I spund valve and keep the last few days worth of CO2 in the keg. I have considered pushing to a serving keg but i dont like the idea of yet another opportunity for oxygen pickup and figure i'll just end up pushing a bunch of the junk anyways since I am pulling...

300 micron. No xfer, let the beer sit on the hops in the kegerator cold. Have not had ill effects that some people believe comes from this ("green or vegetal"). Oldsock and JC have stated the same, no ill effects they have seen. This batch is very finnicky. I wonder if something happened...

Question for the group - how do you deal with (or do you even get), significant hop particles in your NEIPAs? I did a DDH, first stage in the fermenter, second stage in the keg. The second stage DH was 4 or so ounces, so not extreme. I keg DH loose, I have a shortened diptube (like 1/2 gallon...

This started as a typo and then some sarcasm and is now off the rails. Back on track we go.

How do you liquid purge with shortened diptubes?

And then brulosophy goes and casts doubt on carapils and body (at least Briess' - http://brulosophy.com/2016/11/28/dextrine-malt-pt-1-the-impact-of-carapils-on-various-beer-characteristics-exbeeriment-results/). I use weyermann carafoam. I know there is a difference...
