    Timing IPA Dry-hop

Looks like you're doing good here, and most importantly enjoying it! One bit of advice on the bottling end though: try to leave just about 1/2" of headspace. I'm not personally too concerned with oxygen exposure (at least not at this point), but it doesn't hurt to limit any possible issues when...

    First HomeBrew Competition

Congratulations! I would just like to say that I was just reading the introduction to the 2015 BJCP Guidelines. It specifically states that they are to be used only as a guide, and, since brewing has evolved over the years, room for evolution of styles should be allowed. So if your ABV was .4%...

    Mosaic "Imperial" Black IPA Suggestions

Nice looking beer! Do you think that the mosaic fits in well with the other flavors? I'm thinking when I do this I may use something else as my fwh, but keep the other additions the same. Then again, I've never used mosaic for anything other than late, so this could be an interesting experiment.

I need help with gift for my brother (beerlover), any ideas?

Those are both really cool ideas! I know I would like them. I know for me personally my wife gets me beer stein as a gift once a year, whether it's b-day, day, etc. I think they're awesome, and can be found on ebay for a decent price. Honestly though, you know your brother best, and I'm sure...

New England IPA Julius clone (BYO magazine)

Meant to quote the other 2 posts to begin with. Not even 3pm, and apparently I've already had a few too many home brews...

    Harry Potter Butterbeer

Sounds like a good idea. I need to get into the wine, mead, and cider side of things... If I do end up brewing this, or using your recipe as a template, I'll update here to let you know how it works out.

    Mosaic "Imperial" Black IPA Suggestions

Sounds awesome! Any pics? I'm thinking this is gonna be one of my next brews. Sounds like you nailed your first AG, and you came out swinging right at the big guys too! That boozy taste your getting could just be from it being green. Perhaps it will all smooth out, and meld together with a...

    Mosaic "Imperial" Black IPA Suggestions

I wouldn't worry about all the trub in the fermenter. I've read here, and elsewhere, that there really is no effect either way. I try to keep most out, but don't get too worked up about it. Especially after having a brew day like the one you did! Recipe sounds good though. Please keep us posted...

    Harry Potter Butterbeer

Thanks for posting. My wife is also a huge HP fan, but can't stand beer. When I saw this I was hoping it could be something I brew for her, as I'm still trying to find something that will bring her some enjoyment out of this hobby too... Well, the search continues, but I may give this a go in...

    BB Imperial IPA

I was a big fan of the American Pale Wheat BB kit. I have a recipe on here that based on that kit minus a few procedural changes if you'd like to check it out. My LHBS also carries these kits exclusively. He does have all the regular ingredients as well, and winemaking supplies too. At any rate...

    American Pale Wheat critque...

Thanks for the feedback. I'm actually looking to get a bigger kettle, my current BK is only 5 gal, to do BIAB. I figured that would be a logical solution to the color issue. A small tweak of the grain bill and hops to get it in style is in order, but it a petty amount. I'm 2 points high in the...
