    Interesting pump flow discovery/idea

Yes, I fully cool in kettle, bypass the cooler for a stronger whirlpool, then I let it sit to drop out as much as possible before transferring.

The line going up to the sight glass/top of basket. It gets filled with star san then, pushed into a cup for a second before going into fermenter.

    Interesting pump flow discovery/idea

Edit: Yeah the lower valve up to the whirlpool is probably unnecessary. The white hose crimp is there because I haven't removed it. I originally put it there to stop any excess drips when removing the basket, but I pretty much just drain that whole tube now, so it isn't necessary. The valves...

    Interesting pump flow discovery/idea

While total overkill, I did something similar for mash, whirpool and whirlpool with chiller. It's nice for the whirpool hops to be able to cool to 170ish, switch the valves to bypass the chiller and get a strong whirlpool, then switch back to chilling. One thing I'm going to try tomorrow is...

    Understanding the Auber EZboil DSPR-320

Here's the base program I've been using. I tweak for each recipe, but usually in real time rather than rebuild the program for each brew. I've tried lowering mOut and bOut for a more gentle ramp, but honestly it just prolongs the ramp phase and I haven't had any scorching at 100% so I'm back on...

    Star San in Keg

Here's my process, garnered from this forum. I'm sure it's overkill and I should probably just purge with fermentation gas... but nonetheless, this is my process. Take the gas dip tube out and cut it short so it's flush on the inside of the keg when re-inserted. You want to feel no edge or...

Floating dip tube in a BrewBucket

I used to use the bouncer filter, and that worked, but honestly I was never really sure I had purged the whole thing well for the transfer. Putting the filter inside the fermenter has remedied that for me.

Floating dip tube in a BrewBucket

I push with no more than 2psi ( I have a secondary regulator that goes from 1-5 psi, just for my fermenter) I haven't timed it, but it's slow'ish for the transfer, maybe 5 minutes? Because I cold crash, I just watch the condensation line on the keg to know when I'm done.

Floating dip tube in a BrewBucket

It works great for keeping loose hops from clogging poppets. No more transfer issues for me even with large dry hop amounts. 1.Heat tubing in boiling water to get it over dip tube. 2. Test it all with water first. Including draining. Play with the angle of the dip tube and the screen/float...

    Stainless CFC's Anyone?

I was looking at the stout counterflow chiller as well and had the same concerns about recirc'ing back into the kettle through it to whirlpool. So that's good to know that, while not aggressive, it still works. Would you be able to post the outside max dimensions of the chiller (LxWxH)...

Ebiab sample programs for using Ezboil DSPR 320

Yes, it saves the configuration. If you make changes in real time with the knob (temp, power, time) during the brew, it does not save those changes. I believe it loads each step from the mash and boil program as it progresses through the steps. I had my first brew day with my program above...

Ebiab sample programs for using Ezboil DSPR 320

Well I just got the controller recently so I haven't ran through a brew day with it and don't know a specific percent yet. But here is my thinking...….. Since I'm not recirculating yet, I'm not sure if heating during the mash is even worth it. But *if* I was going to heat, I didn't want the...
