    Stout - Maintenance Strokes Stout

Thank you so much for the reply. You gave me more than I was looking for. Super great. I lowered the roasted barley quantity to make the two "types" equal. Then I get to my LHBS and they don't have the coffee Malt. I switched it to a Malt that had coffee and chocolate in the description...

    Stout - Maintenance Strokes Stout

Can someone just review this recipe and make sure it isn't whack? I made a database of the stouts in the recipe book I have and somewhat averaged them together keeping the ratio of specialty malts to base malts the same. (I considered the oats a base malt and changed the 2-rows to GP). 5...

Corn sugar priming; less beer than thought

Corn sugar priming; less beer than thought

No activity for over a week. 3 weeks of fermenting total. Broke my hydrometer last night and forgot to bring the scale over to brother-in-law's house today. This is why 3/4 cup of sugar versus weighing it out. I still have the BF free app so I just use that calculator. Things just were not...

Simpson's Golden Promise In An IPA - Anyone Done It?

There is a smaller local brewery here that has only a single silo. They use bags for everything else. Anyway, that silo is filled with GP.

Corn sugar priming; less beer than thought

Will we be okay? 3/4 cup corn sugar for 4.3 gallons of beer. Thought we had a full five gallons. And primed based on this. However after counting all the bottles it came to 4.3 gallons.

Will it be ready in time?

Brewed with my brother-in-law two Saturdays ago. His first time. Used some LME he got for Christmas along with some new equipment he got at the same time. 5 gallon batch 3.3 lbs LME Wheat 3.3 lbs LME Maris Otter 1 lb roasted barely steeped 10 minutes at 155 deg 45 minute boil 0.50 oz...

It's time to bottle, but of course, it's complicated

Just make another bottling bucket and rack to it with your boiled DME.

    My airlock smells delicious

Never bothered to sniff before. This is only my fifth batch. The hop aroma coming out of here is phenomenal.

Who is Brewing this 4th of July....or at least the weekend?

My weekend started on Wednesday; don't have to be to work again until next Wednesday. Yesterday the daughter and I brewed a scotch ale. This is the first brewing without "following" someone else's recipe. Although I've never been able to follow a recipe 100% whether it's beer or not.

    What are you drinking now?

@ChefRex : Well I hope no heat got to the spotted cow and that it was enjoyable.

    American Amber Extract

I've wanted to modify this recipe https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f70/lemon-lime-hefe-weizen-255659/ to include the lime leaf. How much of that lime leaf flavor came through?

Things went wrong and more to come

So my fourth batch of beer and things did not go well... First my strike temperature got away from me by 10 degrees. Didn't feel like waiting around so added the grain and just stirred constantly without insulation until my temperature dropped to 153 deg. Wrapped up and continued on...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Thank you so much for this recipe. Everyone has loved it. After work on Thursday we opened up 5 bottles I had chilled in a cooler in the back of the man-van. Everyone got about 6 ounces or so before we headed home for our long weekend. Everyone loved it. Thanks again...
