I lowered the roasted barley quantity to make the two "types" equal.
Then I get to my LHBS and they don't have the coffee Malt. I switched it to a Malt that had coffee and chocolate in the description...
Can someone just review this recipe and make sure it isn't whack? I made a database of the stouts in the recipe book I have and somewhat averaged them together keeping the ratio of specialty malts to base malts the same. (I considered the oats a base malt and changed the 2-rows to GP).

No activity for over a week. 3 weeks of fermenting total. Broke my hydrometer last night and forgot to bring the scale over to brother-in-law's house today. This is why 3/4 cup of sugar versus weighing it out.
I still have the BF free app so I just use that calculator. Things just were not...

3/4 cup corn sugar for 4.3 gallons of beer.
Thought we had a full five gallons. And primed based on this. However after counting all the bottles it came to 4.3 gallons.

My weekend started on Wednesday; don't have to be to work again until next Wednesday. Yesterday the daughter and I brewed a scotch ale. This is the first brewing without "following" someone else's recipe. Although I've never been able to follow a recipe 100% whether it's beer or not.

So my fourth batch of beer and things did not go well...
First my strike temperature got away from me by 10 degrees. Didn't feel like waiting around so added the grain and just stirred constantly without insulation until my temperature dropped to 153 deg. Wrapped up and continued on...
Thank you so much for this recipe. Everyone has loved it. After work on Thursday we opened up 5 bottles I had chilled in a cooler in the back of the man-van. Everyone got about 6 ounces or so before we headed home for our long weekend. Everyone loved it. Thanks again...
