Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

Another update, just pulled the first pint. It’s sweet but very good. I’m thinking of maybe adding some bourbon to this in the keg. How does 8oz sound to start off with?

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

Quick update, I just kegged and sampled. It’s actually really good, and it’s very sweet. It finished up at 1.033. I didn’t have time to brew again last week without the lactose. I’ll carb this and try again. Might have a great dessert beer on my hands or might have to brew again without the...

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

This is probably the best solution, I might have time this week to brew again. There hasn’t been much activity in the airlock which I guess is to be expected with all that lactose. I’ll get a gravity reading in a couple of days and have a taste. Thanks for the feedback.

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

I've made this several times and it's a fantastic beer. Today, I really messed up though!!! Smart me, didn't do my conversions correctly ie: grams to lbs, and I ended up adding 2 lbs of lactose to this batch. Obviously I assume this is going to be incredibly sweet, hopefully it's still...

Saison Nelson Sauvin Dry Hopped Saison

Ok, I just kegged and I'm at a loss as to what happened with this beer. Like I said a week ago, my sample was fantastic. Awesome smell as I was kegging tonight, took the last little bit as a sample and now I've got lots of green apple flavor, how can this be? Infection when I took a sample...

Saison Nelson Sauvin Dry Hopped Saison

Sweet Stout Left Hand Milk Stout Clone

I had trouble getting this to ferment out as I was stuck at 1.028. It tasted freaking awesome so instead of messing around with it, I kegged it. Just poured off my first pint and it's easily the best homebrew I've made to date. Make this, you wont regret it.

    Wyeast 3724 temp

Thanks, I guess I could always pick up a heat belt if it stalls out on me or use some brett to finish it..... Yummm!!!

    Wyeast 3724 temp

Sorry, I know there is lots of threads on this. I'm brewing a saison tomorrow and I don't have a heat belt or a way to get the temp up on my fermentation. Never needed to as I always brew ales and my basement is a constant 65 degrees which has always worked for me. I do have a closet that is...

    Hop conversion AG to PM

Hi, I would like to convert an AG recipe to PM and I have the grains/extract figured out, but I can't find any information on the amount of hops required. I know that you need more when converting to extract I assume the same goes for PM. The recipe I'm trying to convert requires .35oz for...

    Your Brewing Music

What say you? Finishing off a brew and I'm all over the place with my tunes. Metallica, Beatles, Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Cash. Good times!

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I was going to give this a go tonight as a partial mash. I noticed that the crystal 10 & vienna malt were left out of the extract recipe. Any reason for this? Should I exclude them from a partial mash? Thx

    Diacetyl - my first partial

Quick Update. Just kegged this beer and took a sample, no diacetyl detected at all. Can't wait to try this one, thanks for the help.

    Diacetyl - my first partial

Thanks for the reply. I never took an OG, I know not good practice but I was tired and wanted to finish up. It should of been around 1.045. It's sitting at 1.017 currently.

    Diacetyl - my first partial

Possibly, I don't have an aeration stone. I typically splash and stir as long as my arms can handle it. I've done probably 30-40 batches and haven't had an issue yet.
