Oops. It was kegged, and forgotten about. No whoosh from bleed off valve. No funky stuff in it.

i forgot about beer in a keg. it changed colors and smells amazing...what gives?

I brewed a saison about 10 months ago. All grain. I messed up my mash and fermented to 1.002. It was 10%abv but only hopped to be about 7. It was too hot in the mouth. I forgot about it until yesterday. It went from straw yellow to stout dark. It smells amazing. I didn't taste it. I put it into...

I came across this website like 6 months ago and forgot to book mark it. You have no idea how much you just made my day. I was about to post a thread on this specific website...

Final gravity @ 1.002-003... Sinlge Malt/singe hop. what the??

Hey guys, I just finally kicked this keg last month. This beer turned out fantastic. No real weird flavors and it wasnt super dry on the tongue. I'm going to re-brew this and see if I can nail that OG I was aiming for. I'll mash a little higher to dry and get some more mouthfeel(It felt a little...

HELP: Fermenting in a Sanke Keg, using s standard Sanke tap

Just to clarify, you're using a shortened spear to pressure transfer, using the sanke tap... but fermenting with a carboy cap, Right? How much did you take off of the spear to avoid transferring the trub? If yes, are you using a blow off tube or an airlock? How much krausen gunk are you...

HELP: Fermenting in a Sanke Keg, using s standard Sanke tap

You get a tight enough seal with that? Is that one of the things with the holes for an airlock and a dip tube? Is it one size fits all?

HELP: Fermenting in a Sanke Keg, using s standard Sanke tap

Hey guys, I did a lot of looking around on the internet, and HBT long before I posted here. I was given an old Sanke keg and I would really like to turn it into a fermenter. I've seen a lot of posts about people putting tri clamps and what nots on their sanke kegs. I'm interested in doing it...

    Cloudy IPA? 7 day fermentation?

LOL at the eruption. What was your OG? I prefer to give my high OG beers a lot of time in the primary. I made an all grain IPA that came out to 9.5%abv(I forget my OG-FG numbers) that I let ferment about 3 weeks before I bottled it(12-16-10) and then gave it two weeks in bottle before I even...

Final gravity @ 1.002-003... Sinlge Malt/singe hop. what the??

You got that low at 155?? I'm thinking it is time to really calibrate my thermometers, just in case. I guess all that time I spent fiddling with my clogged pickup tube meant that the first gallon of runnings just sat there making more fermentables, as did the bottling bucket full of grain...

Final gravity @ 1.002-003... Sinlge Malt/singe hop. what the??

Anyone ever run into a really low final gravity? I brewed a single malt, single hop... 10.5 pounds of vienna malt 3 oz of centennial(1 oz @ 60 min, 1 oz @ 10 min and 1 oz @ 2 min) one packet of dry Safale us-05. I mashed at 152 for 60min, in a keggle wrapped in insulation wrap... it...

    grinding the keggle tomorrow

DEFINITELY USE HEARING AND EYE PROTECTION! Loud is an understatement. Don't do it too early or too late. You're gonna piss the neighbors off! I didn't use a jig. I used a cutoff wheel and went through 8 discs. I did plunge straight in and smoothed the edges after. I also got sick of the...

Adjusting hop schedule for high boil off? Suggestions please? (converted keggle)

Hey guys, I'm making my first SMaSH beer tomorrow. Temps are in the 30's in South East PA. I've nailed down my boil-off rate to approx 2.5 gallons per hour(using a converted keg). I plan on a 5 to 5 1/2 gallon final volume. I'm going to need 7.5 gallons into my kettle after sparging. My question...
