Ok, Brew day went ok but made a few mistakes. Still had a OG of 1.74. Pitched with two vials of 001 yeast. Kept in primary for close to three weeks and put into secondary. Added the dry hops for about 7 days. When I went to bottle I saw large white clumps floating in beer and by the hop...
And just a few other questions. Did you steep the grains in the full 7 gallons or not. Also did you add all the extract at the 60 min mark. Hop bags or no?

I let it ferment in the primary for a good two weeks and put into secondary again for a good two and half weeks. It feremented strong too and almost needed a blowoff tube for it. Like I said I made some mistakes so I'm not shocked..just hoped that with the double batch of yeast it would have...
Well I gave this a try from NB kit. Not my best brew day. Ran out of propane with about 10 min left in the boil after I just added more extract in at the 15 min mark. Kept it covered to try to keep heat in. Then added water first to the fermenter which I never do and then realized I started...
Was wondering if anyone else has done a full boil for this. If so did you still add extract late into the boil or all at the 60min mark..any help would be appreciated. Looking to boil this tomorrow.
I have a gift card on amazon..so this is what I can afford. Also I usually pour my wort into a funnel and use a strainer to help catch some of the hop sludge into the primary. Will the ball valve help inthis.

Looking at getting an 8 gallon kettle for more full boils. Is 8 gallon large enough for a full extract boil. Also this kettle comes with thermometer and ball valve. What size tubing for ball valve and do I need a false bottom for the kettle?

Will two smackpacks of Denny's favorite be ok. I ordered two with the extract kit as I don't have a yeast starter. NB said it would be good to do that..just checking here as well. Can't wait to give this a try..
Denny,
I really want to order the extract from Northern Brewer for this as it looks really good. Question is I don't have a yeast starter so will the SmackPack still be enough for this if I follow the directions..or two smack packs would be better..
