100F is ridiculously hot for a lager. Did you make a starter? What kind of airlock do you have? I had a similar situation with a Belgian Lager I brewed. I pitched a little on the warm side and didn't see any activity for three days. I didn't really have time on my side so I just went to my...
Still no go on this batch. Added two more vials of White Labs Czech Lager yesterday evening and haven't seen any signs of fermentation in ~24 hours. The yeast was pitched around room temp with the primary ~62-64F. What the hell happened?
I should probably add that I had chilled the wort to 80F but upon the addition of cool water to bring the total brew amount to 5 1/4 gallons making the mixture's temp ~70F. Probably a little warm for a lager still.
I'm pretty bummed about my latest brew. I brewed a Stella clone last Sunday, my 3rd extract brew, and have seen absolutely no signs of fermentation. I was patient this week thinking that it could take up to 72 hours to start but no go. The yeast I used was White Labs Czech Budejovice Lager...

I bottled a Belgian Hefe tonight and was filling the last of my bottles when I ran out of brew to put into the last bottle. It smelled really good with a combination of nuts and a slight banana scent. I swigged some and just swished it around my mouth for a few seconds before spitting it out...
I've heard this rumor around but have you guys ever done it or heard about it? If you fill a 1 gallon jug with pop tops some liquor stores will give you a free keg.
Wow I'm replying to a really old post of mine but I have had no time to brew in the last year. The Fat Tire Clone Kit from AHS actually turned out quite well. The Sierra Nevada taste left the beer. While the beer didn't end up tasting exactly like Fat Tire I actually enjoyed much more...
Yes, it was the AHS clone kit. I should have gone a little more into detail. It tasted like a really flat and bad SNPA. SNPA is a great beer and I like it a lot. I won't be disappointed if it ends up tasting like a good pale ale. I won't have to pay $14 for a 12 pack. I'll post a follow up...
