What is up with the product description of this yeast? On web sites it is described as "Its lower attenuation profile makes for beers with a good mouthfeel", yet on the ACTUAL PACKET it says "Attenuation: High". Seems contradictory. So which is it, high or low?
I'd imagine the undershoot can be reduced if you are able to keep your chill source not too much colder that your beer setpoint. Using ice and water in a cooler box (4°C) I was able to use my FTSS on my 7gal BME to maintain a cold crash at 5°C, ambient temperature was 16°C.
On a separate note...
This was one option I have been considering as well. I have a 7 gal SSbrewtech conical and need to cold crash and lager. I've read lots of posts about these portable freezers not having not enough btu's, but how many btu's does one really need to maintain fermentation temps or cold crash (just...
I've seen these "keg jackets" on the internet. They allow you to pump glycol trough them. They could work I guess. My glycol will be below freezing temperatures though, not sure if that would be a issue.
I've watched loads of videos about DIY glycol chillers, but haven't come across any showing how to cool kegs at home using glycol. Are there any particular videos you could recommend? PS - I want to chill the kegs themselves, not just the beer lines.
Instead of setting up multiple fridges/freezers to chill kegs and fermenters, I thought why not have a single glycol chiller, and use that to chill everything?
Each "module" (conical fermenter, kegerator, etc) would have it's own cooling loop with a pump that would be switched on or off when...
How are you guys soaking your stainless conicals in the acid? I'm getting a new 7 gallon conical next week and am wondering how to soak it. Filling it with acid is one thing, but how big of a container will I need to be able to soak the outside? Do I even need to do the outside?
I can get an aquarium chiller that is rated to go down to 32°F/0°C, so I'm guessing I should be able to cold crash to about 37°F/5°C. Does this sound about right? I will be using a SsBrewtech 7 gal Chronical brewmaster edition fermenter.
I can bypass the temperature sensor on the aquarium...
I like the idea of an aquarium chiller for use with the FTSs but I'm told they don't get colder than about 3C/38F, which means the fermenter will be even warmer than that. When I cold crash I like to get my brew to as close to freezing as possible. I wonder if it is possible to "hack" an...
Cool, I'm glad to see someone can confirm. Another thing, the freezer that I am looking at is this Bosch:

It has a digital control panel. I know that discreet electronics like this often have issues with being...
