    CHI Buttwater

CHI Company lists D-tap compatable kegs as "Buttwater"...etc. Nice :) http://www.chicompany.net/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=59&zenid=3b78c8667d259dfc40dbfe040374e254

Things that come out of the SWMBO's mouth!

"I HIGHLY suggest you come home for lunch, your beer is doing something weird." By 'weird' she meant wit volcano in the pantry. What a mess.

    RIP Pierre Celis

10k+ dead in Japan, and my favorite cat runs away last week. Do I cry? No. I found out Pierre died last night and I'm still tearing up right now. The first Belgian beer I ever had was a Celis White. My favorite beer ever remains Celis raspberry even though I haven't had one for years. I...

Hey, conan, I'm having trouble parsing that. Copy it to google docs, then publish to web and post the link here.

    Other hobbies?

Recent video of my "other" hobby. A cardboard false bottom in a sanke is great at catching balls. Well, at least when I'm aiming.

    Storing full kegs

Oh, yeah. What Special said. I forgot that you can prime a keg. As a bonus, it won't explode like bottles sometimes do.

    Storing full kegs

@ Italy If I were in your situation, I would hook the third keg up to the CO2 and pressurize it according to the carb chart then shake the crap out of it for 15 minutes. After that, gas it to that pressure once a day. Your other option is to buy a second reg and re-plumb.

    StarSan ate my plating

I don't think I did. It was like three fittings slowly eaten into 15 gallons of starsan.

Well, maybe I complained too soon. If I limit beer drinking to about 4 bottles a day (which is fine, I don't drink THAT much), 5 gallons should last me 2 weeks. Well, I checked the calender and I should have beer on tap though March 31. PHEW. I had mistakenly assumed that having multiple...

    StarSan ate my plating

Some of my hardware that I thought was stainless was actually plated brass. Well, I found out the hard way that the MFL threads on ball locks are plated, as are the FFL swivel nuts. The barb is SS, the nut isn't. For every batch I make 5 gallons of StarSan and pour it into a vat. From...

1st Time Using Gelatin - My Results

Just hoofed up a batch of porter. I can't wait to see if I f***ed it up or not. I brought a cup or so of water up to 170° and dissolved the gelatin. Ice bath then poured in the cornie. Animal products? Heck, I'd fin with bacon if it didn't make the beer taste so awesome.

Removing Metallic Flavors From Beer Using EDTA

I just found out that FFL swivel nuts are plated brass, as are the MFL threads on ball locks. Long term exposure to StarSan eats the plating off, which subsequently stays in my StarSan vat. I draw from this vat for all my sanitizing. Most of my siphon tubes and canes are in this vat. OOPS.

The biggest mistake I made on my first batch (Nov 18)was not starting a second as soon as my primary was cleared. My second biggest mistake was then making a porter as my second batch, which after 5 weeks still isn't quite ready for the gas. I've been out of beer for 3 weeks. My lack of...
