South Carolina SC midlands area brewers

I'm late to the game here but I just found out Bet Mar in Columbia is permanently closed as of early March. Anyone have any information on it? I've been going there since I started brewing, sad to see it go.

    VERY slow co2 leak

Y'know the weird thing was I couldn't hear anything until I spritzed it with soapy water. If anything else had been running at the time (hot water heater, freezer, car going by the house etc) I'm not sure I would have picked up on it. The soapy water dunk was overkill. My thought was if it was...

    VERY slow co2 leak

Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply. Thankfully I worked from home yesterday so I was able to turn off all of the lines but one, pressurize it to about 50 psi, turn the gas off, walk away and check on it about a half hour later. If that held, on to the next. By process of elimination...

    VERY slow co2 leak

I'm thinking that's going to be the ticket. Thanks! I don't think the regulator is the issue since I smelled/burned the inside of my nose from the inside of the kegerator and I keep my tank on the outside. Still worth a look though, and I will need to replace that washer soon.

    VERY slow co2 leak

Well it could be because I don't know that I've ever looked at my tank washer haha. Are you talking about the washer in the regulator or have I been neglecting my tank some other way? Also if you don't mind me asking how do you find a leak if you don't rely on the bubble method? Thanks for...

    VERY slow co2 leak

Most of them do, there may be a few that don't. What gets me is there were no bubbles to be seen when I dunked it all in a bucket of soapy water. I may try to up the PSI this evening and see if that makes anything more obvious...

    VERY slow co2 leak

Dang my first mistake was putting it in print haha I'm pretty sure it isn't the regulator but I'll check again. I keep the tank outside of the kegerator so if it was leaking the gas wouldn't be detected the kegerator. Knowing my luck I could have two leaks though:rolleyes:

    VERY slow co2 leak

I'm at my wits end here. I've got a co2 leak...somewhere. No idea where it is though. I knew I had a problem so last weekend I took out all my kegs and replaced a few bad poppets and all of the o-rings, lubed up for good measure. Pressure tested them all with the starsan water test and...

What did I cook this weekend.....

Getting caught up on a few HBT worthy meals from the last few months. Homemade Pastrami that I turned into Reubens: Breakfast for dinner on the griddle (Bacon, homefries, sausage, pancakes, eggs): Nachos:

My grain mill is more dumber than your grain mill

That thing is tremendous! Didn't even know putting a belt on a piece of plywood was possible

My grain mill is more dumber than your grain mill

Thanks! Some of the support comes from the stupid looking piece of plywood/pine I have wedged in the track of the lathe. Obviously there was a good bit of wobbling with just that for support but the tailstock with a piece of scrap wood as a cushion worked like a charm. I couldn't just use the...

My grain mill is more dumber than your grain mill

Several years ago my wife bought me a kitchenaid grain mill. We were living in an apartment at the time so it was great because it didn't take up much space and we already had a stand mixer. I usually hit my numbers with it so I kept it all these years, even after we bought a house. The mill...

    Spunding/Co2 process

I didn't measure it but it was probably an inch or two below the CO2 dip tube. There wasn't much room. Never used Fermcap but it might be worth giving it a try. There wasn't much blowoff though all things considered. About half of what's in the bottle was Starsan. The stuff that made it in the...

    Spunding/Co2 process

I figured I'd pop back in here with an update of what I ended up doing. The kegs in the fridge have a floating dip tube. The "in" posts (CO2) from both kegs are joined by a nylon barbed T fitting, which leads to a plastic T carbonation cap (thanks @renstyle for that recommendation) attached to...

    Spunding/Co2 process

@renstyle If you don't mind me asking, where did you pick up the T for your bottle setup?
