That's a drag. Sorry to hear that. I hope they stand behind their products!

Just got this one last week, and the bracket seems good. Note, the clear tube came with it's own (larger) U bracket.

I can double check if you like. I had it apart yesterday to upgrade from the stock steel tube to a sight glass version.

In have the 35L 3.1.1 and it has a silicone gasket there in the camlock. Working on batch #2 today (#1 was yesterday), both IPAs with around 14# of grains. Seems like that is where it maxes out. The mash circulation volume is much slower than expected. Sparging goes so slow. Probably...

Thanks. Can't wait to get brewing, I've got two batches ready to go, one with freshly harvested cascade hops from our trellis.

Just grabbed a 3.1.1 brewzilla (switching from a propane blichman 3 vessel tower)and had a quick question- does it need to be passivated with barkeepers friend like a new stainless kettle?

    CO2 Refill BURLINGTON VT AREA

Super old thread, but for others that may find this on a search, the two options I know of for CO2 in the Burlington area at this point are Vermont Homebrew Supply or Airgas. Both do swaps. The fire extinguisher place (Fireprotec) used to do refills, but the sold to a different company, and no...

Did I goof up? Wet hopping at end of fermentation.

No way to undo it. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Odds are it'll be fine. Tangential aside: I made my first wet hop beer this year with cascade hops we grew and it just came out of the fermenter over the weekend. I didn't use a recipe, just started with grain bill from an old pale ale and...

Need help, buying a kegerator and kegs. What to buy and why

I don't have much experience, only one kegerator that I got used. I can share what I've experienced, but some of the more experienced brewers are probably going to come along and correct me. One thing that I didn't think of before I bought mine is how many beers I'd want on tap. Turns out...

Who sells a ball valve with replacement parts available?

I didn't realize that. Thank you. It just pains me to discard an otherwise serviceable piece of equipment over a wear and tear part that probably costs pennies. I guess I'll just buy some new ones though, rather than risk a ruined batch.

Who sells a ball valve with replacement parts available?

The white hard plastic gaskets in my cheap multi piece ball valves (I got them used) are damaged and collecting more yuck than I'd like. I don't know where to buy spares (both of them have different white plasticy gaskets). I'd like to buy a few good quality ball valves from a vendor that...

Anvil Stainless Bucket Fermentor - thoughts?

I have two of the 7.5 gallon anvil fermenters, and really like them for all of the reasons stated above. They're a lot safer than hauling glass carboys around, easy to clean, easy to bottle from, etc. I can fit two in my "fermentation chamber" (fridge from craigslist with a temp controller)...

Great upgrade to weldless fittings - pull through

I'm sure others have posted about this, but I wanted to share my experience. I picked up the pull through tool and fittings from BrewHardware.com. I have three megapot 1.2 kettles, all that I purchased used. The gasketed weldless fittings were a pain in the neck, and I struggled with leaks...
