    Thanks both of your for the suggestions and advice. I'll get that temperature down as a first priority and then get a gravity measurement.

    It was dry yeast. It's an average of 26-30 C outside. I don't have air conditioning, so it's likely within the same range in my apartment. I moved it into my closet yesterday where it's a bit cooler (probably within the 20-24 C range). Would it be a bad idea to snag another packet of yeast while...
