Howdy everyone! Some again, same guy who posted about the chocolate stout. Thanks by the way, I drew up an awesome recipe. Any who, I’ve received horrible news that Honker’s Ale by Goose Island has been discontinued as of last year. It’s one of my all time favorite beers. That being said, I now...

    What are you drinking now?

I’ve never had Harp, I’ve heard good things. I read about it in “The Beer Bible”. Is it any good?

Can’t go wrong with a Fat Tire. Good stuff.

    Chocolate stout

Right there with you, love me some black coffee! Dark dark roast. Which is probably why I prefer stouts over anything else. And you honestly can’t go wrong with Fat Tire. My GO TO beer when I have one is typically Guinness. There is just something about looking at a fresh pint of Guinness that...

    Chocolate stout

If you don’t drink other beers while brewing your own beer, are you even brewing correctly? Haha.

    Chocolate stout

Follow up question. Typically after fermentation finishes I usually transfer my beer into another fermentation jar and let it sit for an additional 2 weeks. For a stout since clarity really doesn’t matter, after fermentation finishes can I simply just transfer into the bottles? I’m wanting to...

    Chocolate stout

Thank you guys for all the help. I really appreciate the advice and I’m going to take a lot of it. I’ll post my recipe later on. I’m thinking I’m going to step away from the idea of the Imperial stout and just do a regular stout. Until I get a bigger set up, I won’t be able to do the imperials...

    Chocolate stout

Hey everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve been on and a little while since I’ve brewed. Recently I’ve had my first son and I’m pretty thrilled about it. That being said, I want to brew a chocolate imperial stout (or even just a regular stout) and age it for about a year and drink it on...

I will for sure, and yeah Honkers is honestly one of my absolute favorites to drink. Goose Island IPA is my favorite IPA (Although Sierra Nevada is a close second). They are a great brewery

    Stout recommendations

You are all good! Guinness is the only one I have consistently drank, and just everything about it I love. There is absolutely no downside to it for me. I’ve had Sam Adams Oatmeal Stout, and some cream stout from Budweiser and I didn’t care for that at all. I used to be a “hop-head” and spent a...

    Stout recommendations

Hi everyone, I’m looking for about 5 great stouts to try for inspiration to start brewing my own recipe. My go-to and favorite beer is Guinness Draught, but I also do love Guinness Extra Stout. I live in Missouri, and any recommendations would be great. Thanks!

    First time porter brewing

Howdy! Im wanting to make a Hershey’s chocolate porter but I’m not sure where to start. I am a big fan of pale ales so that’s typically what I tend to brew. However, I do love a good porter. I was wondering how I would go about getting the flavor of a Hershey’s chocolate bar into my beer? Would...
