You can also add dextrose to dry it out and bump up the ABV. A brewery in Colorado uses it for that reason with a very good Mexican lager they produce.
They use:
80% 2 row
10% dextrose
4% Victory
4% Vienna
2% Carapils
17 IBU's

I used Dinkle connectors for my panel build. They are the same ones that Auber sells in their DIN connector kit. Dinkle makes some pretty compact connectors but since I need them to be up to 50 amp I had to use the larger ones. So far I am pretty happy with them...
You can still get crud stuck in butterfly valves. They are a little easier to clean but gunk can get in the creases where the valve passes through the housing. I still have to take apart my system and scrub and soak the butterfly valves.
If you do this make sure that you do not cool with the tank sealed. The cooling will cause the pressure inside the tank to drop and the atmospheric pressure can crush it like a pop can. I thought it was BS as I was researching how to properly clean large fermenters and there are plenty of...
I think it is brilliant marketing. Going after the big guys with the gloves off. We just had a "craft" beer dinner that we were invited to. Once I saw the beer list it was obvious that the "craft" beer was all Inbev owned beers. No one knew any better except those who follow the industry.
I would avoid Traegers and their pellets. They used to be pretty well made but now they are very thin and not that well made. At the last BBQ contest we cooked at there were two new Traeger cookers and we spent a couple of hours helping that team get them going.
Like said before look at...
So now that is is over I can give the details. My wife and I were asked to cook for about 45 Medal of Honor recipients and their families and guests yesterday. They are in my town for a big convention and this was one of the events set up for them. It was a "Ranch Rodeo" and it had to be cooked...
Got a big cook coming up on Friday. Cooking for 200 people for a pretty special event that I can give details about when it is over. We are cooking a 95 lbs whole hog, 100lbs of packer briskets and 35 lbs of salmon. All of it has to be done on site so that is going to be a challenge as it is out...
I went with a 20,20,20 setup. I like to brew big beers and it can be tight getting all of that grain in a 15 BK and MT if you are doing a 10 gallon big beer. I also have a 20 HLT as it is a HERMS setup and hope to do double batches and the added space in the HLT will save me some time.
I know I may get flamed to no end but kudos to Ben and his crew as I am involved in manufacturing and I know first hand what a PITA it can be to develop and roll out a new product. It has been interesting to watch. I have some Spike equipment and get frustrated with response time sometimes but I...
