Got the same issue since also in AZ (Phx area). thanks for ideas everyone. Figuring out a cheap method to control fermentation temp here in the desert has slowed me from starting up brewing again.
Unpacked what was left over in my brew equipment from nine years ago.... Clear tubing was sortof melted and gooey. Looked at a couple of recipes from the early 90s and an old LHBS order sheet from 1995. Guess I'm gonna be updating some things.
When I was taking a homebrew class back in the early 90s, I asked why we weren't making the beer clear like the store bought stuff. The teacher said because we are home brewers.... If I wanted clear beer like that, then go buy a bottle. Lol, he was very opinionated kind of guy...
Haven't brewed for several years and getting set to start up again. Good post. Reminds me that brewing can still be a fairly simple process, and produce good beer when focused on the basics.
