    CO2 Regulator Losing Pressure

Yes, the gas has been connected all the time, but I did take it straight from the fermenter, where it was at 68 degrees into the keg, which is set to 40 degrees. Maybe it will settle out as it cools?

    CO2 Regulator Losing Pressure

I'm pretty new to kegging, only on my second batch, so keep that in mind. A few days ago, I kegged a dark mild ale and set it in my keezer at 40 degrees F, with the regulator set to 10 psi. It stays for a few hours, but I will come back to check it, and the gage will be set 4-5 psi below 10. I...

Low ABV...Should I Pitch More Yeast?

It was a 5 gallon extract kit, and I topped it off with the correct amount of water. Good to know about that....I must have just taken a reading from a weaker part of the liquid. That would also mean that my ABV is actually a little bit higher than I initially thought, if my OG was slightly off...

Low ABV...Should I Pitch More Yeast?

Ok, thanks for easing my anxiety :) Any ideas why I had an OG of 1.034 instead of the 1.040 the beer kit said it should be? Just curious if there was something I should be doing differently next time.

Low ABV...Should I Pitch More Yeast?

Decided to brew a dark mild ale for my 5th home-brew using Safale S-04 dry yeast that I re-hydrated before pitching. My OG was about 1.034, which was lower than the 1.040 the beer recipe indicated it should be. After about 12 hours, it was fermenting happily at a constant 68 degrees (I have it...

    Dialing In Keg Carbonation

Thank you all for your replies! Eventually, after dialing my PSI down to 12 and waiting for a few days, along with burping the keg, I was able to get a lot less foam out of it. There was still some, but I was able to put up with it. I kicked it yesterday, and will try to carb my keg slowly over...

    Dialing In Keg Carbonation

I've heard this before....I wonder if applying some ice to the tap would alleviate this problem some. Not sure if it'd be worth it not to get foam in the first pour or not. Maybe I'll try that.

    Dialing In Keg Carbonation

I finally realized that I should turn it down from 25 PSI about 11 days ago, but I haven't been releasing the pressure from the keg. Should I turn off the switch from the regulator to the keg when I release the pressure in the keg, or does it matter? Also, should I just open the relief valve...

    Dialing In Keg Carbonation

Hey all. I'm new to kegging, but was hoping to get some insight into why my beer isn't pouring as foam-free as I would like. Here's some background for reference: I have a 5 gal keg in a home-made keezer. Initially, I had a really short liquid tube length, a temperature setting that was too...

    My Fermentation Chamber Build

Awesome build! So far, I've gotten mine put together, but I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on the window. It definitely would be nice not to have to open the door every time I want to check my brew, but did you find that cutting that much insulation out of the front door hurt the fridge's...
