Glad you started this thread because I am on a mission to brew these as well.
I have not had the same problem with oats causing a slick feeling and think your bill looks pretty good. My issue has been how much lactose.
I see you bumping up to 1.25 lbs. was 1 lbs just not enough sweetness?
I...
I just did a batch for July 4th.
Two takeaways from my brew.
1. I used 6 mangos and next time would bump that to 8 in the secondary
3. Eukanot is a perfect compliment and would suggest using some if you can
yes I would say my whirpool with powder resulted in a much better flavor IMO than anything I have done the past two years and I basically brew NEIPS beers all the time. It resembled a trillium/treehouse/other half style of flavor that came through more so than pellets. I went and bought a ton of...
I have done an all mosaic recently and have to say it awesome! I used them all in the whirlpool 4 oz and 2 oz dry hop all powder. I used panty hose for the dry hop as the particle powder does not settle well in cool liquid.
I also grabbed citra simcoe and eukanot which are fermenting away
This is by far the best IPA I have ever brewed. I really like the lupulin powder for the mosaic and citra...so good!
I dry hopped with the powder as well but since I was concerned for the debris to not settle I used panty hose as a filter to let the flavor soak in but did not add any...
I replicated the recipe by LL except for hops. I used Citra and Mosaic lupulin powder along with galaxy pellets. The smell coming out of the fermentor is insane. Can't wait to try this out
Anyone tried using lupulin powder on these batches? I just grabbed a large amount of Citra and Mosaic to test and wondered if anyone incorporated them into this recipe.
I really don't think Tree House is using lactose to back sweeten their beers (Julius) Now Tired Hands is doing collaboration beers with Omnipollo and the Milkshake IPAs use fruit and lactose....you can tell they are adding it into these beers.
I have to say I read this thread and a couple on Tree House beers these styles really are where I want to go with my IPA's and enjoy pretty much everything these breweries are pumping out. I tapped this Friday night and this is absolutely on the right path. The taste is a nice balanced light...
agreed the flour does not need to be in there the heavy oats addition and a bit of wheat and large hop additions have given my beers plenty of haze and the mouth feel I am looking for. My goal now is what is the best hop combo. Mosaic Citra Amarillo is fermenting now and the smell coming off the...
I have done some all grain batches but I am completely miffed by the chloride to sulfate terminology. Are we talking about calcium chloride? And what sulfate? I have checked a few home brew sites for additives but I'm not sure what exactly you are using...sorry this is such a noob question but...
I brewed something along these lines this weekend in an extract batch. It's dark, it will be strong and has some great aromas coming out of the air lock. I tried a version of a Northern Brewer kit my friend had called Saison Noel and it was decent but felt it needed something more to make it...
