I had a similar problem when first using my system.
On occasion my SSR would "latch" and stay on. Usually after being 100% on for a while, like when bringing mash up to temp.
I found if I killed power to the SSR for a few minutes after I noticed it had 'latched" on sometimes it would go back to...
For me I installed the I2C LCD not so much to use as a brewing tool but a way I can see the PI is up and running and for a quick temp/time glance.Mostly because it was cheap addition ;-)
I use one wire sensors to display the temps in the browser when Craftbeer Pi running. I have not updated the...
I originality downloaded a beer.xml recipe file in beersmith loaded it into CBP3 for auto process.
Now auto steps are always there in CBP3 when it starts. I just find it easier to change the temp and time instead of loading another beer.xml file.
Unless I am sous viding a brisket for 36 hrs like...
It may not be your problem but maybe something to check... most cheap SSR's, Fotek etc.. you find on the internet are fakes.
I had a SSR that would stay latched at 100% after a long on period like bringing water up from room temp (HERMS System) although the software was in PWM mode.
If I turned...
Sorry, should have been more specific...
I run those commands from a command prompt using the program Putty to SHH into my PI on my home networked computer.
I'm pretty sure can enable SHH when installing NOOBS, just tick the box.
To shortcut things, I have my PI setup on a static IP address so...
I use a "4 Channel IIC I2C Logic Level Converter Bi-Directional Module 3.3v to 5v board" to raise the voltage to 5v.
You can purchase them for less than a dollar shipped by slow boat or pay a shipped from the states one for a couple of bucks.
Something like this I use:
I was just merely sharing my personal experiences please dont take anything apart on my account! At the time my sensors were easily changed out with compression fittings.
If you had used the same sensor for a year with your Arduino then one could "assume" that the sensor itself is fine.
BGHSmt7...
I had all kinds of 185F and also 32F on my system. Sometimes it would would hold out for the brew day other times it would crap out during mash. For me after it saw 185F the system become unstable and would have to be rebooted. Then it may work again for a while or crap right out. Come to find...
Thanks to Manual... CBPI3 & Doug... Elsinore Strangebrew ...I can run either brewery on my PI!
The brewery has been running great after a few hiccups, mostly cheap chinese dallas ds18b20 sensors giving me headaches...
I recently added a I2C LCD 4X20 SCREEN ...why not its like $12.00  and...
