    Miller Lite Home Draft Dissected

My only issue I see with that is getting it to mount inside of the screw on CO2 cart holder. If that could be worked out, it might be a good way of doing it

Another way to cut down on the CO2 cart cost can be found at the following linke http://www.fizzgiz.com/Refillable16gOrderForm.htm Basically you can refill this CO2 cart yourself. Would require a Larger CO2 tank and an inflator needle. I am sure that could be DIY'ed also. Just food for thought.

Just tried to put The Coors-lite keg cap on a 3 liter bottle. It does not create a seal. You could probably get it to work if you used some plumbers tape on it, but I don't think I want to risk it. I need to order a tap a draft bottle to confirm that it will work with the tap.

Collecting second runnings and storing Them??

Yeah it was less than 48, and I did put it in the fridge also.

Collecting second runnings and storing Them??

At the time of posting I didn't. With the feedback I received it sounded like it could be do-able, so I did it.

Collecting second runnings and storing Them??

How so? The only cost associated with this batch, comes from the hops. And seeing that I got them for super cheap. This brew is damn near free. Why dump it? If the "experiment" has not real risk (money), then why not go through with it. Worst thing that could happen is I wasted my time...

Collecting second runnings and storing Them??

Well. All my batches that I brew are 2.5 gallon. Still new to the whole brewing thing, so this allows me to brew more, which in turn gives me more variety. I agree that it should be done way sooner than 10 days, but I figured that would give the yeast enough time to finish what they are doing...

Collecting second runnings and storing Them??

Well I brewed it last night. Wort tasted fine when I took my gravity reading. Will update again when fermentation finishes up. Since this was my freebie batched, I pitched this on the yeast cake of a pale ale that I did, so fermentation should finish out in about 10 days.

Update: After 2 days force carbing in the fridge, my beer seems to be pretty good carbonation. On 9/12 I put a Witbier in the Coors TAD, beer was cold before I inserted the first 16 gram cart. Put the second cart in on 9/13, and took a sample today.

Collecting second runnings and storing Them??

Thanks for all the replies guys. The Cons don't sound all that bad, so I will have to give it a try. It is going to be a 2.5 gallon batch, so won't be that much waste if it is horrible.

Collecting second runnings and storing Them??

Hey Folks. Sorry if this has been asked before, I have looked for it but cannot find it. Here is the deal. I am looking at brewing a big beer 1.100 or so, and I wanted to collect the second runnings off of the grains to brew another lighter batch of beer. The catch is, I doubt I would have...

Just an idea here. It has been reported that the 3 liter soda bottles would also fit the Mill/coors - lite taps. If you were to naturally carb your beer in the 3 liter bottles, could you store the bottles cap side down? If you did this you could pour off the dregs right before you tapped the...

Well I filled it up last night and put in a new CO2 cart. We shall see how it all works out. I have a total of 4 carts, so that should be a enough to carb and pour my witbier.

Just picked up my Coors-Lite keg this evening. I am going to bottle my 2.5 gallon batch of Witbier this weekend, so I have so drinking to do. I have several of the 16gram carts (Mountain biker, flats happen), so I am gonna give force carbing a shot. I also want to see if there is some way to...

Brewing Beer, Drinking Beer and Managing Beer Gut

My Name is Josh, and I love beer. (This thread kinda has a support group vibe to it) I am 6'3" 240lbs (down from 350 almost 2 years ago) and I on average 2 a night, and maybe 3 to 4 on the weekends. Even with the amount of boozing, I am still managing to drop weight. Of course part of that...
