    Priming sugar substitutes?

Cane sugar will work just fine. I've used both corn sugar and cane sugar before and didn't notice any difference at all. Chemically speaking though, dextrose (corn sugar) and sucralose (cane sugar) are not the same. But for priming, they will both work.

ok just made my first 5 gallon batch

Hot water does freeze faster than cold water. This does however depend on being in a controlled environment. Hot water goes through an endothermic reaction known as evaporation at a higher rate than cold water. This means that heat energy is converted into kinetic energy at a higher rate with...

I didn't dramatize my blow off tube

I'd say go ahead and sanitize it. Most likely, you're fine though. In the future just be careful with sanitizing in the future. Choice is yours.

Back with an update and a question :)

Leave it, you're going to see that almost everytime you brew. It's just the residue left behind by the krausen you've developed while fermenting. Just for future knowledge the trub is what's left behind at the bottom of the fermenter after everything has settled to the bottom, and the krausen is...

Beer and lemonade, in the keg?

You could definitely mix the two together in a keg. As was said before though it might be smart to add potassium sorbate to hinder the fermentation of the lemonade. Although I'm not sure how it's going to turn out taste wise, if you allow the lemonade to ferment it may raise your ABV...

First brew day EVER! (A long read)

Like LovesIPA said, most would advise to take gravity readings after 2-3 weeks and bottle when the FG is stable for a few days. Other than that, not bad for your first time. Pretty ambitious too going all grain your first time out. I would just add that you should take gravity readings pre-boil...

    I built my first Keezer

Pretty slick setup. I like the back splash tiles, nice little accent.

    secondary racking question:/

I think 6 days in primary is generally not enough time before racking to secondary. You'll want to verify if fermentation is complete through your gravity readings. Then, once you have reached your FG, allow a few more days to let yeast and sediment settle to the bottom before racking to...

    Post Boil Questions

Everything up to getting thought the boil is very simple, going to make my second batch here soon, I am still iffy on my first batch, but I am just going to leave it alone and hope for the best! I have 3 questions questions.. 1) I just use the stir like mad method for aeration, do I add the...

    Honey Wheat

I agree with what everyone else said. I'll just add that when using fermentables made of simple sugars such as honey, corn sugar, etc. it will typically add dryness to your final product as opposed to imparting flavors or sweetness.

    Official Finishing Times

All of those are good signs. However, they can be misleading. I would periodically take a gravity reading to see how close it is getting to your expected FG.
