The feet don't seal the lid, it only seals with pressure. They do help hold it closed enough to slow the co2 until there's enough pressure on the lid to seal it tight. You should be able to just pull up on the keg lid handle while you turn the co2 on and it'll seal. You can get replacement feet...

Does anyone know of a subby way to put a faucet on a sankey keg? I'd love to not have a plastic picnic tap in the kegerator. I know tall ones exist like https://www.kegworks.com/picnic-pump-rod-only/ I suppose I could use a 90 adapter to a mfl tailpiece and then a normal female flare to faucet...

You could also invest in tri-clamp or cam lock. I’ve seen 5/16 all stainless ntp pushfit connectors to match them too.

If it makes you feel any better, at most I spray some starsan at the shank and let it runs out the qd and rinse the faucet. Not even every keg unless I leave it open.

I also recommend using evabarrier line. It’s dual layer and doesn’t absorb flavors like vinyl and stays cleaner.

No. Sous vide them first then chill to fridge temps then smoke to whatever you want. If you sous vide after you’ll lose smoke flavor.
