Hello I think i just calculated my MT dead space...I took the advice of someone on this forum and filled my MT then drained it...i was left with 1/2 gallon of water..thats my dead space right? If so i am gonna enter that into my beersmith equipment profile..

cool thanks...so everytime a brew a new style with different OG..i would use this calculator before i put the data into beersmith?.in other words i have to change the brewhouse effciency on beersmth for different recipes..BHE is always different depending on wort volume ,OG, grain bill...

So in the equipment setup,how do i figure out mash tun specific heat,lauter tun dead space,brewhouse efficiency,boil off,cooling shrinkage etc? Im using a 10 gallon igloo round cooler with water supply braid ,9 gallon brew pot..how am i supposed to know evaporation rates..should i boil 5...
