I am planning a double mash IPA this weekend and planning to do like this:
1. Do the first mash without sparging in order to get a good thick wort with a high OG.
2. Return the wort to the mash tun and do a second mash in the wort with the same amount of malt.
How do I handle it...

I am brewing in my 30liter electric pot controlled by my SYL-2352 PID and an SSR. My problem is that the PID overshoots by 2 to 3 degrees from SV to PV.
It is not a big problem when brewing but as I also use it for Sous Vide cooking the extra degrees make a big difference in the long...

I have just upgraded my 5 gallon brewery to approx 18 gallon. This also requires an increased amount of sanitizer (Iodophor) and since Iodophor costs about $10 for a pint here in Denmark im looking into alternatives.
My fermenters are plastic so Im not sure steam is such a good idea...

Thx for your reply. I decided to order the SYL-2352 and the 4 inch sensor as there is plenty of room for it. Im not sure i understand what the SSR is needed for. Until i get my gas valves i will be using the PID for temp monitoring only so i guess an ssr is not needed here ?

Do i need SSR control output or could i just settle for this one ...
