    Help: Poor Carbonation

I used all the priming sugar included in the kit. We stirred it in as we racked from the glass carboy to a bucket. Then we stirred it gently a little more. Then we racked from the bucket into the bottles. The bottle caps seem to be on tight. I tried turning them with my hands and they're on...

    Help: Poor Carbonation

I made the Brewer's Best English Brown Ale. Everything seemed to go fine. Except for when I tasted it. I let it bottle condition for two weeks before I tried one. At two weeks of bottle conditioning, it was very flat and had very little carbonation. The flavor seemed like it would be good...

has anyone tried the brewers best oatmeal stout kit

I'm glad I found this thread. I just purchased the Brewer's Best Oatmeal Stout kit. I plan on brewing in the next couple weeks. I'll be using liquid yeast though. I wonder if that will change the results at all.

This book is also available in an online version for free. http://www.howtobrew.com/intro.html It still might be nice to have the hardcopy version, but this at least lets you see the whole book before you choose to buy it.

    How to get started?

That looks like a nice kit at a fair price. You might also want to consider visiting a local brew shop if there is one in your area. I've found my local brew shop is very helpful and has all the stuff I need.

    My kit comes with 2cans?

I recently used a Brewer's Best Robust Porter ingredient kit that came with 2 3.3.b cans of Liquid Malt Extract (6.6 lbs total). The instructions specifically said to add ALL the LME included. So, I added both cans and the brew seems to be going fine. If you have a prepackaged ingredient...

    Bottle Bombs

I'll be ready to bottle the Porter in my carboy soon. It sounds like getting the right amount of priming sugar mixed evenly is really important. Thanks for all the tips and things to avoid in this thread.

    Brewing Notes Feedback

Cool form. It looks pretty useful. I think there is a saying that says something like... Anything that is measured improves. It makes sense that if you want better beer, you should document your process and the quality of the beer that the process produces. Do you mind if I print one for my...

30th Birthday present - my in-laws are awesome!

I like the tap handles. You'll have to have your in-laws over to make use of that fine set-up.

If you want to eat while you drink, Brit's Pub is really popular http://www.britspub.com/ Town Hall Brewery is supposed to be cool too http://www.townhallbrewery.com/ I recommend taking in a Twins baseball game if you have time. The new stadium is amazing. Some of the beer stands have a wide...
